The Search For Reliable Plastic Surgeons

Saturday, July 10th, 2010

Plastic surgery really has become an acceptable social norm, thanks to the media and television. Plastic surgery is so common and acceptable, and it is even a form of enjoyment. Now, people enjoy browsing through magazines and having a look at what various celebrities have done plastic surgery. You may find it really compelling to browse through magazines and take a look at celebrities that look better after plastic surgery, or way worse.

You might as well know as much as possible about plastic surgery before actually getting someone to do it for you. You may be wondering why some transformations turn out so well and some turn out embarrassingly bad. Now, with new recent technology, computer programs are able to give you a graphic model of what the new-you will look like after the surgery.

You can then see if you really like what you are going to look like afterwards. It is worth mentioning where the name ‘plastic surgery’ comes from. As you know, ‘plastic’ material involved in this form of surgery. This word actually comes from the term ‘plastikos’, which is Greek – it means to shape something’plastikos’ in Greek language, which means to mould or shape. Plastic surgery is not just used to improves one’s appearance. Surgery can be used to actually do life-saving, necessary alterations to treat things like burns or face deformities caused by accidents.

There have been more than 12 million cosmetic operations that have been performed in America. These range from things like liposuction (of course), to breast augmentation, to chin implants and cheek augmentations. It isn’t really surprising that the majority of operations are done on women. However, interestingly enough, surgeries on men to improve their appearance are increasing all the time.

The most important thing is to know as much as you can about the plastic surgery industry and various practices, before you actually talk to people about having it done. You should avoid any plastic surgeon that tries to convince you with hype. It is absolutely imperative that you go with an honest plastic surgeon that knows what they are doing. Otherwise, you are bound to get ripped off, or looking even worse than before. But don’t let me scare you. You will find that almost all licenced plastic surgeons are able to do the job very well.

If you are looking for effective Tucson plastic surgeons, plastic surgeons in New Orleans or effective Las Vegas plastic surgeons, there are several places you can find them. The first place you will probably want to look is business directories. One of the most populat business directories that lists various businesses is called Yelp (people can also give feedback here too). But you absolutely must search Google also. Many people consult Yellow Pages, which will (most likely) have all the plastic surgeons in your local area. If you have any family or friends that have used plastic surgeons then you can use them too.

It should be up to you (and you only) as to whether you choose to hire a plastic surgeon or not. You may really feel that plastic surgery will be highly beneficial for you, and that it is worth the money; in this case you should go ahead and have it done. You must know all about the monstrous costs that come with plastic surgery, and the risks. Now, I advise you to consult and visit as many various plastic surgeons in your area as you possibly can, and talk to everyone you know that has had plastic surgery before. I would most certainly advise you to have a chat to various friends and family that have had surgery done to them before. They will be able to give the best advice.

Favorite Online Web-Application

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

Ok, so here’s a quickie. My new favorite web application is this little favicon generator I found at http://www.htmlkit.com/services/favicon/. So here’s the back story:

One of the bosses came up to me last week and asked me about the little icons that show up in the title bar of Internet Explorer and next to each site in his bookmark list. He was browsing around and noticed them on other sites, but not on one of ours.

It took me a while to remember what these files were called, but a quick google search reminded me fairly quickly (I love how Google can do that!). So I explained the basics to him. Years ago I had helped a family member with this exact issue. At the time I had to download some icon-generator that would output the specific format that these Favicon files need (16×16 .ico format).

When we looked at trying to create one for our site, google helped out again. At http://www.htmlkit.com/services/favicon/ we found an easy converter that will take darn-near any image format or size and convert to this.ico format. Pretty slick! I didn’t have to download any software or try to figure out the file format or image parameters. This web-app gave us a preview of what the .ico file would look like and then let us download the compressed file. The whole process took about a minute.

The only thing I had to figure out was what do do with this favicon. Another quick search and we’re home. The trick is to keep the file named FAVICON.ICO and upload it to your website’s root directory. The browser does the rest. Want to see the site we were working on? Here it is: TopHat Tobacco.
